Isabella in the Spring is inspired by the renowned Isabella Stewart Gardner Estate and Museum in Boston, Massachusetts. A place near and dear to artist and designer Crystina Castiglione, and a place she considers one of her biggest sources of inspiration. Isabella Stewart Gardner was a Boston socialite and patron of the arts in the early 1900’s who started one of the first private collection museums. She was also known for love of horticulture, and the interior atrium and courtyard of the museum is still seasonally maintained with Isabella’s favorite blooms. Just some of what you’d see there during spring - daffodils, azaleas, and wild greenery - were carefully hand painted with watercolors and used for the design of this suite, affectionately named after Isabella.
