MEET THE ARTIST

Hi, hello! I’m Crystina - yes, with a “Y”and I’m the artist, illustrator & designer behind The Messy Painter.

I live for finding the magic in the tiniest of details - the subtle whimsy of a vein in the leaf of a flower, or the way two colors explode with vibrancy when combined. I love bringing that magic to paper - and helping others bring magic to paper for their ideas too. All of my designs start with the most magic of all: a pencil and blank sheet of paper. Nothing can replicate hand drawn, and hand painted designs, which is the foundation of all of my work..

When I’m not elbow deep in paint, I spend my time with my sweet babies Sicily + Wylder, and my forever love, George. I love listening to any record from start to finish, cooking a meal from scratch (especially if it’s involving pasta), and cozying up with a great fiction story.

ABOUT THE MESSY PAINTER

The Messy Painter is a woman-owned creative studio that specializes in Bespoke Wedding Stationery Design, Fine Art and Art Licensing. Crystina is incredibly passionate about merging her hand drawn illustrations and watercolor paintings with digital surfaces to create beautifully crafted paper products, textile + surface designs, and specialty stationery items.

Crystina’s work is best known for its bold use of color, detailed line work and subtle air of whimsy in every illustration. Inspired deeply by her love of vintage wallpaper, folk art, natural curiosities and historical architecture - Crystina’s work ranges from gilded-age inspired patterns to thoughtful, but playful and vibrant florals. She has worked with clients such as Bealls Florida Department Store, Lululemon, Pure Barre Fort Myers and St. Pete, Muse Wall Studio, Hardrock Stadium Miami and The Vinoy Resort + Golf Club.
