Color Story of the Season
Port
Wine, Wine, Wine. I had to start with a color synonymous with one of our favorite treats. Yes, from merlot to the sweet ports themselves, I consider all types of wine to be a treat. I am loving this color for fall because it’s as rich and decadent as the name suggests, not to mention the fact that every old brick buildings belongs in a permanent state of fall.
Maple
Oh maple, the most quintessential fall color of them all. Just think about it, many of our favorite comfort foods and festive flavors belong to this color family - Pumpkins, cinnamon, sweet potatoes, caramel. Unless you are a UF Gator and you sport your orange proudly year-round, there is no better time of year for all of these tasty orange hues!
Spruce
Okay, taking a break from all of those foodie terms because I am getting pretty hungry thinking about maple treats and wine. I love the cool blues and greens of Spruce for fall because it is the refreshing palette cleanser we all need. Spruce trees come to mind (duh), and I’m immediately transported to a more woodsy region up north. This color is also a reminder that the gift giving season is near! As soon as you see your first Christmas tree motif of the season… it is time to get shopping because the holiday’s will inevitably sneak up on us (again).
Mustard
Yeah, so we are back to foods and spices. Isn’t the back half of the year all about eating anyway? In most places outside of Florida, the warmth of Mustard is a necessity - Something reminiscent of that late afternoon sun to get you through those brisk days up north. Oh, and actual mustard. Octoberfest is in the air and hopefully you’ve enjoyed at least one giant pretzel with mustard this season.
